EXCLUSIVE New Balance / New Clyde Carson / AND MORE

Balance - Gotta Get It
Exclusive, pimp! Produced by EA-Ski. This shit SLAP like no other. Balance spits cool, as usual, over a clean ass beat. Ski's production is on point, kinda poppy kinda funky, but with a catchy ass hook, "dun-dun-dundun-dun-dun." I'm feelin the little female vocal sample in place of a brass stab. Techno tom-tom synths occasionally pop out of the background. I like how EA-Ski layers his tracks; i've said it before and i'll say it again: Ski's production is simply elegant.

Ya Boy (feat. Jin) - 16's Wit Us (Remix)
Many of you might remember the original, which was a 2004 summer slumper. Updated for 2005, it's some cool little lyrical/punchline/battle rap shit over a hard ass beat that samples that Darth Vader song from Star Wars. Jin isn't my favorite rapper, but he and Ya Boy fit together well on this. Interestingly, the beat keeps going for a while after they finish rapping, so this is likely not the finished product. I'm assuming another Ya Boy verse will get added, and maybe have San Quinn spit on this too? Hopefully.

Clyde Carson - 32 Bars of Clarity
Another dope track from Clyde. Spittin some real shit, he calls out Shonuff and Balance, setting the record straight on why The Team doesn't fuck with Shonuff anymore. This fool also says, "ask the internet geeks why they crave for The Team? They respect what I bring." Hahaha Clyde Carson just called YOU out. Really though, dude is a dope lyricist and he proves it on this track. I'm not sure who produced this, but the beat has a definite RZA influence-- check the somber drums and wandering piano line.

Mistah F.A.B. - Metros and Chirpers
CD Quality, ya heard?

HOODSTARZ PERFORMANCE DEC 10TH!
If you're in the Bay, you gotta come out to this shit, Boondocks @ 2246 Jerrold Ave in San Francisco, on Sat, Dec. 10th... It's finna be craaackin. HOODSTARZ are gonna be in the building, shit is gonna get hyphy as fuck. It's the one year anniversary of Made In The Bay, a yay area clothing company run by one of my patnas. Imma try to make my way up to The City for this, so if you're gonna come out, holla at me and maybe we can link up. Get your discounted $10 pre-sale tickets by emailing info@madeinthebay.com. Get directions to the club here.

One more thing: check out this DOPE interview with Traxxamillion over at the Lyrical Swords blog. Traxx speaks on what he uses to make beats, the hyphy scene, and dirty south "biters".

Don't trip. I got you. Keep it locked on Get Stoopid.

haha ... I wish making bay-style beats was as easy as Trax makes it sound ... but from the synths on The Team's "Just Go" to the procussion of Kinsmoke's "On One", just listen to that shit and tell me you can do it without putting in the work. But then again, maybe that's why the bay sound is so appealing; people are taking this shit to the next level, and the fact that it so fun to listen to to boot just sets it off.

Also, tom-toms definetely seem to be making a presence in yay beats lately. It seems like ever since Droop-E did those toms on "Da Dummy" you've been seeing them everywhere ... in fact, I'm a bit suspicious of where Pharrell got the inspiration for his first solo single ...

Once again, props for representing the production side of things so fully.

Kinda sad to see Team split ways with Sho' Nuff ... don't get me wrong, Team's work with Traxamillion has been VERY impressive (LOVE "Patron", "Just Go" is up there too), but "It's Gettin' Hot" is just one of my favorite beats of like ... ever. I don't get why that song works as well as it does, but I love it.

Now, I'm gonna give my two cents on this new joints in a minute, but I gotta say this now - you fucking called it on that Western Conference song. That one grew on my like nuts, man. I don't know what it is about that song, but it's hype as shit. Good lookin' out on that shit.

right on serg, hopefully i can make it, im banking on this one ride and if that falls through i'm not sure if i could afford to bart it up there.

mornview, i feel you on shonuff, dude has some really slick production. even tho we wont be hearing Team on his beats anytime soon, at least we can look forward to other rappers spittin over them.

wonderbread, sorry man, i dont know about your proxy server shit, but i do know most people prefer using yousendit since theres no hourly download limit and they dont have to wait, but this site is just too fucking popular that yousendit links arent worth the effort anymore.

you can try using http://www.webwarper.net and copy/pasting the rapidshare links into that and see if you can bypass it, good luck.

Hey, just had to drop back in and say that I agree; that Balance track is dope as fuck.

You're right, it's DEFINETELY on the commercial tip (I could see this on MTV), and I don't know if it will have the longevity of EA's other big hit this year, "Club Talk", without having a dope lyricist like E-40 on the track, but all I know is I've been bumping the hell out of it. Big cup of props for Jayo on the hook-up.
